Family therapy helps families increase connection, communicate more effectively and establish healthy dynamics. In family therapy, you also learn how to effectively address changes, conflicts and challenges. Family therapy serves to focus on the structure of the familial unit, and how you relate to one another. If your family has recently gone through a major shift such as a divorce, a new child, the loss of a loved one or even blending a family, a dedicated family therapist can help you navigate this.
Families can experience many internal and external hurdles throughout the years, and many families struggle to cope. Even if you’re able to identify the source of the family conflict, it can be beneficial receiving guidance on how to provide each family member the support and attention they need. We work with family members to guide and support them through life’s difficult transitions. Family relationships play a key role in how we experience the world and how we come to see yourselves. We believe that treating the family system has a great impact on each individual family member.
In family therapy sessions, you and your family members can develop skills for healthy family communication and learn how to interact in ways that are productive. Family therapy is unique in that it helps the members understand how their reactions lead to different responses in others, and it also brings awareness to the role each person plays in the overall family dynamic. Our family therapists are trained in techniques to help each family member find solutions that work for them.
