my approach

Hi, there! I'm Bijul Enaohwo and I am a Psychotherapist and an Attorney. Bijul comes from Obiajulu which means "my mind is at rest". One of my goals as a psychotherapist, and the heart of this practice, is to help others achieve just that, a mind at rest.

Welcome!

I graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and the University of Houston with my law degree. I practiced law for 10 years and then earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health. I have a wide variety of learning experiences, but it all came together in helping me live out my purpose!

I work with individual adults who deal with issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions and other mental health challenges, and my specific niches are codependency, childhood trauma and healthy relationships. I believe every one of us deserves to lead a flourishing life, and I’m passionate about helping others achieve that. Together, we focus on your strengths and how you can cultivate the life that you want.

One of my favorite quotes reads “a hero is someone who heals their own wounds and helps others do the same”. My own journey has allowed me to become a therapist who leads with compassion and understanding, while providing a safe environment for you to feel heard and respected.
My passion is to heal, and my purpose is to love.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with loved ones, and having interesting conversations on my podcast, Flourish with Bijul. You can listen to the conversations on Apple Podcasts, Spotify,
and all other platforms.

I am being supervised clinically by Jackeline Hurtado, LPC-S.

Passion to heal, Purpose to

Love

meaning I use many different evidence-based treatment modalities and neuroscience research to personalize my work with each individual. In working with all clients, I provide unconditional positive regard and I understand the impact of life experiences, attachment styles, and culture on each person’s current functioning. No two people are the same, and my approach is rooted in this understanding. Our work together will be tailored to you, your needs, and your goals.

My approach is eclectic,

You've got Questions, I've got answers

Do you accept insurance?

What forms of payment do you accept?

What is the cancellation policy?

No, I don’t bill insurance for treatment. When insurance companies pay for your treatment, it means they can audit my treatment plans, read what we discussed in sessions and decide whether or not you need more sessions. I believe you have a right to confidentiality, and the right to decide how your treatment should go. For this and many other reasons, I don’t accept insurance as a form of payment. Upon request, I will provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I cannot guarantee that you will get reimbursement, and I recommend discussing with your insurance company to get more clarity.

Do you accept insurance?

You can pay for your sessions with cash, debit or credit card, or HSA cards. Please note that full payment is due at the time of service.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to attend a session, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not cancel and/or do not show up for your session, you will still be charged the full session fee.
